The Bayside Hills Civic Association stands in support of the S.A.V.E. 1-Family New York
Alliance against the elimination of one family zone districts.
BHCA President Mike Feiner will make a statement at the February 24, 5pm press event
sponsored by the Alliance at the Douglaston Club, 600 West Drive, Douglaston, NY 11363.
The Alliance’s goals are embraced by our homeowner’s association. The Bayside Hills Civic
Association opposes Governor Hochul’s proposed Housing Compact, specifically the removal of
Home Rule in violation of the NYS Constitution, the blanket amnesty for illegal conversions in
NYC, the NYS Housing Board’s power to approve multi-family housing regardless of location,
and the establishment of mandatory housing unit targets on an on-going 3-year cycle.
Should these proposals become law, the resulting development free-for-all will cannibalize all
our communities, lowering our quality of life and affecting property values. Finally, none of the
Governor’s proposals will create any increase in affordable housing; instead, it will increase
unaffordability in our housing stock.
The Bayside Hills Civic Association is an open homeowner membership organization representing over 1200
households within the boundaries of Bayside Hills. Our mission is to promote a safer more livable community. The
BHCA Board is volunteered-powered, and service driven. Its advocacy, beautification and communication work
rely solely on the support of members, sponsors, Beacon advertisers, and participating discount merchants to
maintain and improve our neighborhood. Through partnerships and strategic alliances with citizens, businesses and
government, the BHCA works to protect homeowner rights and investments, cleans up and beautifies the malls and
streets, thereby creating a healthier place to live.
